ChicRevolt began over ten years ago to share my fabric creations with the internet. What started as a humble username & rebellious spirit transformed into the brand it is today.
Sewing was a traditional skill passed down through my family for generations, so my love of fiber arts started at a young age. Access to materials as a child was often limited to what we had laying around, old hand-me-downs, or recycling. Of which there was plenty, so I began resizing basically everything in my closet and slowly learning piece by piece—finding ways to reuse plastics as boning as well as melting into fabric!
But most clothes off the rack never fit me properly, but when we thrifted, it was a little easier to find clothes that fit. Skinny jeans hadn't even made it to thrift stores yet, so improvising became my specialty. There weren't many resources other than crafting forums, and I st ay7n6u2arted participating in virtual craft swaps with like-minded creatives. (if you're ever wondering where my cactus pincushion came from) It was bare-bones but helped me learn whatever I could.
People started to notice & I loved sharing my passions with others. Over the years, I would take projects here & there whenever I could, sometimes working three jobs from sun up to sundown. Thriving in chaos kept me going for many years.
As my clientele grew, I catered to those often overlooked by the mainstream fashion industry seeking well-made clothing with a longer shelf life. From cosplayers to many bridesmaids' dresses over the years, I've loved every opportunity to hone my skills.
My focus has always been to empower you to wear whatever the hell you want and unleash your self-expression with unique items that are handmade for YOU only. Redeveloping connection to the garments we wear, and the person finishing every seam.
ChicRevolt is evolving rapidly; I'm looking forward to wherever this passion leads. As always, a work in progress.
